The project that started it all — Rotary Club of Bali Canggu
When a young Balinese boy named Dhani suffered severe burn injuries, Mark Savage and a small group of Rotary volunteers in Canggu refused to look away. They raised funds across Rotary clubs in Bali, Western Australia and Switzerland — connecting Dhani with Dr. Tim Cooper in Bali, and then with Prof. Fiona Wood and her burns team at Princess Margaret Hospital in Perth.
After surgery, Dhani could eat again. He could close his eyes when he slept. A small group of people who simply refused to give up — and it became the founding spirit of what would grow into HeartsForGood.
